Most leadership advice focuses on what you give: feedback, credit, recognition. But there's a quieter skill that shapes how much trust you build, and almost no one talks about it: how well you receive.

Research on leadership presence suggests that deflecting praise doesn't just feel uncomfortable in the moment. It teaches the people around you what's safe to offer and what isn't. When you wave off a compliment, minimize your role, or rush past recognition, you're quietly signaling that good things don't land easily here, for anyone.

This episode is a short, somatic practice; not a lecture, not a fix. It's a few minutes to notice, in your body, what it actually feels like to let something good land without overthinking it, defending it, or handing it back. No belief required. No mental checklist. Just your shoulders, your breath, and a little more room than usual.

This isn't about becoming immodest or performing false confidence. It's about building the felt capacity to receive what's already true so the next compliment doesn't bounce off before it has a chance to reach you.

In this episode, you'll practice:

  • Noticing where a compliment lands in your body, not your mind.
  • Letting recognition arrive without needing to verify it first like the warmth of sunlight.
  • Building a portable somatic cue you can return to the next time you receive positive feedback so that you can receive it.

If this practice supported you, please consider leaving a short review. It helps more women find this space and receive what’s offered.

Until next time, may you receive what is offered.
